11/9/2022 0 Comments Super hexagon hexagonest music![]() ![]() surprisingly i still have the ability to win hyper hexagonest, fairly routinely. The goal of Super Hexagon is to control a small triangle which circles around a central hexagon (which occasionally collapses into a pentagon or square in the hexagon and hyper hexagon difficulty) while avoiding contact in the front with incoming "walls" (touching the sides is allowed). so i have been playing it again, recently. it is a good game for when you are feeling sad - it occupies your brain, and offers a steady sign of your skills growing, somehow without ever being frustrating even as you die and die and die and die. Super hexagon is weirdly relaxing, for such a fast-paced game. the longest i have ever lasted in the black level is 30 seconds, and that was a fluke - usually i only last 15 or so. the number of patterns to watch out for is much higher, and you don’t have time to think. the black level doesn’t spin, which actually makes it harder. you can’t access the black level directly - you have to survive sixty seconds of hyper hexagonest before you can face it. one day you can finish hyper hexagonest, and you get a glimpse of 'the black level’ - but quickly die, and you see the ending (just once! you never get to see it again without resetting the game), every level flowing backwards in a really beautiful way…īut if you really want to be a super hexagon wizard, you need to face the black level. it goes so fast that any watcher would be lost, but you can do it. you spend a very long time crashing within 10 seconds. it is stark and grey and breathtakingly, seemingly impossibly fast. (and you can go back to hexagon and hexagoner, and extend your time to last several minutes, since each of these levels turn into a subsequent level every 60 seconds).īut you’re not done. you get good enough to do hexagonest, hyper hexagon, and hyper hexagoner. ![]() the hyper versions are a lot like their original level, with the same music, but much faster and a somewhat different sent of patterns.Īt some point, it really starts to click. a lot of people beat hyper hexagoner, but never manage hexagonest. so you can try hyper hexagon, and hyper hexagoner, which are about as hard. and eventually you learn to be ready for the spin, and respond appropriately. and once you start to think you might be getting it, survive 10 seconds, and suddenly the entire stage spins round much faster than you’re used to, completely disorientating you. hexagonest is brutal compared to what has come before. you finish hexagoner, and unlock hyper hexagoner. #Super hexagon hexagonest music how toafter a while you learn how to survive this. by now you’ve learned to look for patterns, but it has some really nasty ones - some really quick direction changing is needed. where hexagon had primary colours, hexagoner is black and the walls are green. this unlocks hyper hexagon, but you aren’t ready to play it yet. eventually you make your way up to 60 seconds, jenn frank says 'hexagon’, and you 'beat’ the first level, hexagon. you learn to predict this, and avoid being killed. sometimes the hexagon changes, to become a pentagon, or even a square. after a while you make yourself further into the level. When you start playing, you almost certainly won’t last 10 seconds. the entire stage is rotating, and frequently changing direction. that means learning the patterns they come in, how to recognise them. walls are coming in towards the centre at tremendous speeds. You are a tiny triangle, and there is a hexagon which you can rotate around (there are only two buttons). or alternatively, it’s a bullet hell shooter in an unusual format. ![]() ![]() It’s kind of the distilled essence of computer games. ![]()
